Relieve Work Stress Using These Time Management Techniques
It-s a crazy world trying to balance work and family. The stress of trying to maintain that balance can subject you to unhealthy stress. There is a combination of two techniques that can make it quite manageable.
If you don-t use a daily planner then it-s time to get one. Use a one or two page per day format. Weekly or monthly planners are too general. Use a hard copy book that you can quickly glance at and carry around with you easily.
It-s important to layout daily plans in detail. Setup your coming week on Sunday. Don-t worry about the following weeks. They are too far in advance and subject to change. Use those “advance pages’ only to list long-term appointments. Be sure to schedule some “down time’ when making those daily plans. Don-t forget to figure transportation times as well. Just walking from one building to another can eat up important time and quickly put you behind schedule.
They key to making your daily planner work is to just take life “one day at a time.’ Review your day when you first start out then try and stay on track. You-ll have to make changes for future days. The key is to write down the change then forget about it. All you have to worry about is the page for today.
Review your daily page at the end of the day. This is the time when you start to realize where you have overbooked yourself. You-ll find that you are the cause of your own stress. Slow it down and book fewer tasks. You could also realize that you wasted a lot of time and are capable of much more. The best thing is the feeling of accomplishment when you realize all that you did achieve that day.
